It’s Canvas Week Again!

Welcome back from the summer break! In the spirit of preparing for fall term, we’ve put together a week of training sessions on specific Canvas topics. The links to the PDC pages and the descriptions are below. We look forward to seeing you in the sessions!

Canvas Week: Consistency – Implementing Student Survey Feedback

Monday, August 16th, 2021 • 10:00 am – 11:00 am
In this session, we’ll go over the top five requests from students in the CAT survey to help make course sites more efficient, consistent and, user friendly. The Zoom link will be emailed to participants the day before session.

Canvas Week: Using VoiceThread in Canvas

Tuesday, August 17th, 2021 • 10:00 am – 11:00 am
In this session, you’ll learn more about the VoiceThread integration in Canvas and how to leverage it in your course. The Zoom link will be emailed to participants the day before session.

Canvas Week: Group Annotation Activities with Hypothesis

Wednesday, August 18th, 2021 • 10:00 am – 11:00 am
This session explores the various ways to facilitate large and small group activities in Hypothesis, including:
– Creating assignments compatible with Canvas Groups (including small group activities and one-to-one annotation assignments)
– Annotating with Sections in Canvas
– Creating lightweight, flexible, or ad-hoc small group activities using Tags in Hypothesis

Canvas Week: Engagement in Canvas

Thursday, August 19th, 2021 • 11:00 am – 12:00 pm
In this session, you’ll learn tips, tricks, and best practices for engaging your students in Canvas. The Zoom link will be emailed to participants the day before session.

Canvas Week: Q&A and New Features

Friday, August 20th, 2021 • 10:00 am – 11:00 am
In this session, we’ll go over some of the new features added to Canvas over the last few months, and a few items expected for the fall term. The rest of the time will be open for general questions and answers. The Zoom link will be emailed to participants the day before session.
